Soo unfortunately I have no exciting pictures to put up, partially because it took me until last night to find my camera in my bag and partially because there haven't been any real picutre taking moments thus far. Don't get me wrong, Panama is exceptionally green and pretty right now, I've just mostly been inside training. In turn this will be a word heavy blog :-/
Tueday we had staging in Miami, we basically turned in lots of paperwork, met the other PCTs (peace corps trainees) in our group and went over expecations, security stuff etc. Their are 54 PCTs in my group, 31 are english teachers and 23 are CEC (like me).
Wednesday we spent most of the day getting to and from the airport and flying. CEC trainees are staying at a small hotel about 30 mins from the peace corps offices (where training is) while the english teachers are stayfuning right near the offices.
This meant that this morning we had to get on the bus at 630am and just got back to the hotel at about 830pm. Today we had project overviews. As a CEC I will either be working with schools to develop their environmental ed programs, doing community based education or doing watershed education. We also had our language assesment interviews, a semi intimidating experience. There were two native speakers in a small room, and they recoded me while asking various questions in spanish about my life, my friends, and then gave me a fake scenario to work through. We find out our groups for language lessons tomorrow. We also interviewed with our APCD (associate peace corps director) in charge of our programs. Oh and we had blood takin for a pregnancy test (oh so fun).
So yea, not much exciting to report thus far, but while I have regular access to internet I felt obligated to right SOMETHING.

I'm READY!
Since I'm heading to Miami tomorrow, it's probably time for me to write SOMETHING. I'm flying to Miami tomorrow evening, staging is Tuesday (basically involves paperwork, meeting the other 50 some people in my training group etc), then we will fly as a group to Panama on Wednesday. After a few days in/around Panama City, we move on Sunday to our training communities (and into a host family home), about 1.5/2hrs outside of Panama City. After 15 months. . .it's finally time to begin my Peace Corps journey!!!
All my belongings for the next 27 months! :-) Just about 70 lbs.
